Friday, January 17th – Parent/Teacher Conferences if Needed (Student Holiday)
Monday, January 20th – Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (School Holiday)
The Weekly Buzz…
Unit: Mittens
We will read The Mitten by Jan Brett. We will complete activities to review sequencing, ordinal numbers, language development, and rhyming words that have a mitten theme!
Phonics
Our new letter of the week is Dd! Capital D is a tall man who ate too much and has a big belly! Little d is a ball and a stick. To help students differentiate between b, d, and p, I remind them that d has a ball on the left with a tail. B has a ball on the right with no tail. P has a ball up top! We will also begin our Dd Blends (da, de, di, do, & du).
Handwriting
We will continue practicing writing our first and last names as well as the number 11!
Math
Our new number for the week is 11!
We will review the month, year, AB patterns, shapes, colors, and will count to 30!
Bible
We will review our favorite Bible stories and learn about Jesus’ boyhood!
Weekly Bible Verse:
"Lo, I am with you alway.”
Matthew 28:20
